#FEMUN_WINNERS: Andrew Moon
A little over a month left until the beginning of one of the brightest events of this spring – the Far Eastern Model UN 2018. Thus, we would like to share with you one more story of the Conference winner of the previous year.
Please, welcome, Mr. Andrew Moon, the Head of Department of Public Information of FEMUN 2018.
1. What did you expect from FEMUN 2017?
«Oh, you know, it was hard to expect something particular from the Conference because of its format. However, I was sure the debates were going to be hot and interesting. What about expectations of myself, I had a goal to make a decent work for which I wouldn’t be ashamed.»
2. How was it in reality?
«It is a controversial point for me. On the one hand, I think I could perform much better than I did, but, on the other hand, I achieved the initial goal and became one of the winners of the Conference. But it was really tough – the debates were a great challenge for me: hot discussions, loud disputes, strong rivals and, actually, allies too. Nevertheless, thanks to the support of my adorable team I had overcome this challenge.»
3. How many sleepless nights did you have during preparation for the Conference?
«Actually, it is hard to count. Maybe, about a week of an absence of sleep in total. However, I’m just a bad time-manager. I think the whole world can manage its time better than I can. But I am working on it!»
4. SC or GA? Why?
«Of course, GA! The answer is simple: SC is not my style. I like to play a role of a mediator during the process of debates and GA fully suits me. Meanwhile, SC promotes more aggressive discussions with shouty disputes. I understand why so many people like SC but it is just not for me.»
5. What can you say to the participants of FEMUN 2018?
«Do not be afraid of challenges. I would say more – consider them as opportunities. FEMUN 2018 will be a great challenge for you but it’ll become even greater opportunity to grow personally. This event is life-changing, believe me!»
