#RESEARCH_101: How to write Documents?
Documents’ writing is a very important process in your preparation for the Far Eastern Model UN 2018. During this process, you’ll find lots of information which will be useful during the Conference. Moreover, by mean of writing documents you make a deeper research on the country, committee and agenda item you chose what increases the chance to make a better performance in the debates.
As you may know, in frames of FEMUN 2018 you need to submit two documents which are a Position Paper and a Country Profile.
Thus, we would like to share with you some hints to make your preparation more efficient.
In order to create qualitative documents, you should consider some nuances:
1. Position of a country. Keep in mind, you express the interests of the country as an official representative. It means the document should consist of the position of your country upon the issue, not your personal opinion.
2. Official style of documents. Papers are formal, hence, grammar and vocabulary must comply with the official document writing style.
3. International Treaties and Local Practices. It is essential to know the most important agreements, declarations, conventions as well as the best practices implemented in the field of the agenda item by the UN and other relevant stakeholders. Please, take into account the positions of all countries regarding the issue.
4. Concise but substantial. Try to write a paper that will be fairly complete as much as it is possible.
For example, the Country Profile describes a country from different sides and depicts its originality and wealth. You must show the features of the country which distinguishes it among others. Meanwhile, the Position Paper illustrates not only the country’s policy upon the agenda item in common but in details too. Document must clearly describe position of your country upon the issue as well as measures to solve it.
5. Deadlines. If you want to compete for the main awards of the Conference, you need to submit the documents in time.
The detailed description of documents’ content and format is provided in the Document Writing Guide which is published on MUNRFE website.

Remember about deadlines:
- Country Profile - April 17, 11:59 PM (UTC +10);
- Position Paper - April 21, 11:59 PM (UTC +10).
Documents’ writing should be an essential point in your “to-do-list” in frames of preparation for the Conference. By this mean you broaden your knowledge of the agenda item and committee you chose as well as the country you represent. So, work on your papers properly!
The bigger work gives the bigger results!---
